Heywood Christmas Festival - Parade and Christmas Lights Switch On

Stalls will be situated outside the Civic Centre from 11am to grab yourself a bargain or support a local charity and don't forget to nip across the road to Heywood's Magic Market for lots of entertainment and crafts in the Community Room with the town Guides.

Pop over to St Luke's for their Local Talent Concert from 1pm outside on stage, while enjoying a hot cuppa inside. (Full itinerary to be confirmed)

At The Olde Queen Anne there will be mulled cider, hot bingo, specialty coffees and a children's entertainer on.

Walk yourselves down to Mike Goldrick Blinds & Curtains and Tilly's Tea Room to see Santa, stalls, The Salvation Army Brass Band after 2pm and special offers on 'Tata Ash and festive cakes, you can then walk along Market Street for two Brass Bands sessions, 12-2pm from Middleton Youth Brass Band, followed by Littleborough Brass Band 2-4pm. 

Along the way look out for Paw Patrols Marshall and Chase, Frozen's Anna and Elsa and Superheroes Batman and Captain America, along with Peppa, Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Victorian Juggling Jim with his join in circus tricks all walking around town available for photos. 

The parade will be leaving The Heywood Pub at 4:30pm with floats thanks to Joe Sharp Transport, decorated by Mike Goldrick Window Blinds, LJDA and Rugrats, Blue Rose Gifts, St James Brownies and the Rotary Club of Heywood. If you want to watch get yourself on Market Street or Church Street as the parade will be going up Market Street against the traffic and stopping at the top of Hartley Street where the Civic Centre is.

The Mayor and Mayoress will do the big Switch On around 5pm as the church bells chime and The Olde Queen Anne host a short firework display.
